Migraines

"The largest study investigating the effects of acupuncture on migraines revealed significant reduction in the frequency and intensity of migraines after 6 weeks of biweekly treatment."

Diener, Neurology, 2006

Acupuncture helps migraine and tension headache pain by prompting the nervous system to release natural painkillers such as endorphins and enkephalins. These in turn increase blood flow to the area of pain, and relax the surrounding muscles. This effect combines to offer quick and lasting relief from migraine and tension headache pain.

In the treatment room we've never witnessed a patient that comes in with an active headache leave with the same pain they walked in with. Very often the headache pain is gone completely in that initial treatment. Over a period of extended care, even chronic migraines and tension headaches can be resolved or extremely minimized for the very long-term without medical painkillers.

If you or someone you know is suffering from migraines or tension headaches, please don't hesitate to contact us for an appointment today. Don't suffer with pain for another day longer than you have to.
